4 Principles of PowerUp

PowerUP Your World emphasizes the same four principles as previous PowerUP releases.  These principles are:

The Power of Prayer

     The Power of Community

          The Power of 10

               The Power of One

The Power of Prayer: Followers of Christ believe in prayer, but many Christians and Sunday School classes forget to pray for the unsaved.  Jesus said, "My house shall be a house of prayer for all the nations."  Jesus wanted us to do more than just pray for ourselves, He also wants us to pray for unbelievers as well.

The Power of Community:  The need to belong is a basic human need. Many Sunday School classes do not fully understand how the need to belong can be used to engage their lost friends and neighbors with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  By inviting the unreached people to participate in small group Bible stude, their friends can have a safe place to explore the Bible and experience Christian fellowship.

The Power of 10:  In order to allow more people to be involved in small group Bible study, more classes need to be started. As a general rule, for every class your church starts, attendance will increase by about ten people.  Therefore, if you want to make room for 50 new people to begin attending church, you will need to start five new classes.

The Power of One: Throughout Scripture, God continually changes the course of human history through one person, a leader.  God is still in the process of changing human history and He uses ordinary people to change the eternal history of all people in all walks of life.
